The New York ArtCorps Committee Presents:
CAREER STRATEGIES:
A SURVIVAL KIT FOR CHALLENGING TIMES IN THE ARTS
with Geri Thomas, Thomas & Associates
and Susan Koblin Schear, ArtIsIn
Join us for a lively discussion with ArtTable members Geri
Thomas and Susan Koblin Schear, both expert management
consultants who will give us practical advice on how to
take charge of your career in these challenging economic
times. Examine trends in the arts and business environment
that are affecting the job market and learn how to turn
them into an advantage. Identify opportunities inside institutions;
how to create strategic alliances and partnerships; new
growth areas for consultancies; how to reposition your business.
What are your core competencies and what additional skills
do you need to remain competitive in the marketplace? Discover
how can you leverage opportunity when faced with a shrinking
budget for a project. How you can take your career in a
new direction and embrace change. Learn to think like an
entrepreneur - set a new goal and map out a game plan. Practice
the art of creative networking!
